Have you ever been in a situation where you felt weak and didn’t feel in control of what was going on?
According to Harvard Business School psychologist, Amy Cudy, channeling your inner Wonder Woman can do the trick. Yes, you hear me right. Stand up. Place your legs apart. Place your hands on your hip and strike your power pose.
Well according to Cudy, this Wonder Woman power pose can change your life and your hormone levels. Cuddy and her collaborators, Dana Carney and Andy Yap have reported that results from their study confirmed their prediction that posing in high-power nonverbal displays
experienced elevations in testosterone, decreases in cortisol, increased feelings of power and tolerance for risk as opposed to low-power nonverbal displays showed the opposite effects. They behavioral changes were true for both male and female participants.
So the next time you find yourself needing to take charge, get your Wonder Woman on and strike a pose.
