Trinity is a very small jewelry-making business whose mission is to employ both men and women in need.  Trinity is located in one of the most impoverished areas on the edge of Nairobi- Kariobangi.

Co-founder, designer, and manager, Joseph Muchina, grew up in a Nairobi slum, which gave him a strong desire to find a way to reduce poverty. He, along with two other founding members of Trinity, were trained by the National Christian Council of Kenya in jewelry making, and they started Trinity Jewellery Crafts.

Muchina finds the inspiration for jewelry designs from traditional African jewelry.

He emphasizes that when they have orders for the artisans, it means guaranteed food on their table, shelter for those who pay rent for their houses, clothing for their families and most importantly, school needs for their children.

All twelve jewelry artisans at Trinity participate in a profit-sharing plan and 10% of their earnings are set aside each month in a pension plan. Muchina is staunch believer that that economic opportunity is the best way to effectively combat poverty.

Woman True is in line with that mission of self-sufficiency and empowerment for women. Know that your dollars spent on items from Trinity will help families not only lead a respectful life, but one that will allow them to actually eat and maintain housing.

Jewelry from Trinity is handmade, with hammered elements, beads from local family bead producers, and traditional African beads.
